The Mighty Fer

Messy Grids.

I’m The Mighty Fer, and my art celebrates the beauty I find in chaos, imperfection, and nerdy curiosity.

ICONS by The Mighty Fer

a collage series honoring legendary musicians and artists. Each piece layers photographs, journal writings, poetry, and original artwork from the artist, surrounded by handwritten lyrics and sayings that mimic bathroom graffiti. The work is intentionally messy, layered, and emotional, yet presented in ornate frames to highlight the striking contrast between fame, beauty, chaos, and the raw reality of life.

Encoded Emotions

I turn words and feelings into binary code and then into art. I paint the 1s, scribble the 0s, and leave spaces between letters, creating messy grids that hide readable messages inside them. This process is both structured and chaotic, and it reflects how my neurodivergent brain works — organized, messy, logical, and creative all at the same time.

ICONS → collage + graffiti tribute art

Encoded Emotions → hidden binary message grid art

Artist Name → The Mighty Fer

I create art as a way of translating my thoughts, feelings, and experiences into visual form. My work exists at the intersection of order and chaos, structure and spontaneity, much like my neurodivergent brain.

In Encoded Emotions, I transform words and phrases into binary code, painting the 1s and scribbling the 0s within grids to create messy, chaotic, yet deeply personal compositions. Each piece is a hidden message — structured enough to follow a code, yet expressive enough to reveal the unpredictability of human thought and emotion.

In ICONS, I pay tribute to musicians and artists who have left a lasting impact on culture, often exploring the lives of the legendary and the tragic. I collage photographs, journal pages, poetry, and original artwork from the artist, layering them with handwritten lyrics and sayings that mimic graffiti. The ornate frames surrounding these pieces heighten the contrast between beauty, chaos, and the raw humanity of the subjects.

Through both of these series’, I explore the tension between precision and disorder, structure and creativity, fame and vulnerability. My art is a reflection of how I experience the world — intensely, messily, and with a deep curiosity for patterns, stories, and the hidden codes in life.

Why “The Mighty Fer”?

This was a nickname that my dad called me as a kid. Somehow, I was never Jennifer - but “Baby Fer” or “the fer” or “the mighty fer” :)

As i have embraced my adult ADHD diagnosis, I value it as a superpower rather than a hinderence, this nickname came rushing back to mind and felt like the perfect fit :)
